Meet Nicole

Nicole Scott
Owner Pawfection Pet Service - Dog Grooming
"I've always wanted to work for myself, though as we move and travel a fair bit I wanted a job that would be able to move with me, and also something I could do from home as we were planning to start a family. I met a lady on my travels who was a groomer and decided that's what I wanted to do. It ticked all the boxes, plus I get to work with my favourite animal- dogs! So here I am, diploma finished, a 10 month old bub, and working from home running my own business. I’ve had the business registered since the end of October and each week is getting better and better. It's crazy how quickly your confidence grows once you start doing a few dogs consistently each week."

Employed Groomer & Owner
"My friend is a dog groomer and I use to go and watch her groom dogs and thought that as I was contemplating a career change at the time, I would do a dog grooming course while still working to see if it was for me. I liked the fact that I could do the course at my pace especially as I was a single, working, full time mum. I asked my groomer friend if I could help her so I started washing and drying the dogs for her. While I was doing the course, I would get her to show me what I was learning and I would slowly start to practice on some of the good dogs like shaving pads and doing nails. I currently work part time at an establishment that offers dog grooming and day care but I have just started my own dog grooming business from home where I will work on my days off. As I hopefully get more clients, I will cease work and continue to work from home full time."

"The course has loads of great and helpful information and is done at your own pace with as much time as you need to complete it. For practical experience, I did a post on my local FB buy and sell group and got tonnes of interest immediately. I started my business as soon as I completed the course out of my garage and it has been 10 months now and I am steadily getting my regular clients on schedules, I am hoping for my business to be my full time income in the next 12 months."
Meet Sandi

Sandi Ferguson
Owner Fergie's Dog Grooming
"My grooming journey began around two years ago when I decided I wanted to do something I had thought about doing on and off for about 20 years. After 25 years in Social Work I desperately wanted a change of career I looked into courses and found Vibe offered such a flexible, informative, supportive and affordable option which suited me perfectly.
Gradually throughout the theory and assignments I grew more passionate and excited about starting hands on Grooming. I gradually purchased all the essentials and began grooming my friends and family’s dogs. After this I gradually started charging for grooms. My confidence increased so fast within just a few weeks, I have never looked back!
I loved doing the course. The modules were so easy to follow and were structured perfectly. I still refer to my file after printing out the modules whenever I feel unsure, along with the text recommended. I loved the theory most and reading grooming books. My practical experience came from grooming my friends dogs at first (sometimes quite badly, looking back!). I moved on to doing half price grooms for people I knew from the local dog park. I put a message on the dog park FB page and was inundated with clients. After only a few weeks I was charging full price as my confidence had increased greatly.
My business is Fergie’s Dog Grooming in Perth. I am home based only. I have converted my garage into a grooming space. I work the hours I want to and it would work out to be around 25 hrs per week, perfect for me.
A bit of a funny story. I was grooming a senior Maltese recently who made a continuous squeal while being bathed and groomed. It was really loud. 15 mins into the groom I had the police knock on the door as there had been reports of screaming. I did not hear them above a blower and ear muffs for ages, when I finally heard them they were amused to see who was screaming!"

I am at the moment getting my business up and running. That i am going to do in between my full time job. That i plan to cut out if the grooming goes ahead. The name is April Showers Dogs.. and i plan to be mobile and home base. "
Meet Rochelle

Rochelle Whitley
Employed Groomer
"I find the mind of a dog very fascinating. I really enjoy learning about how they think and behave, and how exactly they got to that point. So, I love with this course that we not only get to learn how to groom dogs, we also get the added bonus of learning about dog behaviour and traits!
I will be groomer for the business I currently work for. I currently work for a cleaning / gardening business where I am the training manager for the cleaning department. I also work with our clients that are in need of a pet sitter or walker. We are expanding the business to offer pet grooming so here I am! We will start with a home based set up and work from there."
Meet Chloe

Chloe Berry
Owner Chloe's Doggy Doo's
"I first considered dog grooming as a career path when my employers changed from horse training to building a dog boarding facility. I had always worked with animals so dog grooming was very appealing to me. I was unable to join a physical grooming school due to location and financial position. Vibe's online option meant I was able to study without a change of location or employment.
I have been running my own mobile grooming business for almost a year now. I started with a trailer and once my business picked up upgraded to a van. I started grooming while working part time and within 6 months was working full time hours (and then some!
Doing the vibe online course and beginning my career as a dog groomer has been the best decision of my life and I am so so glad I did it! "
Meet Leanne

Leanne White
Home Groomer
"My dog grooming journey began when my elderly poodle was refused grooming because he was getting too old and grumpy. I thought wow what am I to do? I will try and learn myself… so my journey begins! I enjoyed every aspect of the course as it gave me more knowledge to groom effectively and having a Shih Tzu and now a Maltese it gives me the freedom to practice when necessary to a point where I am quite confident to groom.
I don’t have a business but that was my intent initially after a redundancy but I just help others out at times and of course groom my own dogs. I guess you could call it my Hobby."
Meet Brooklyn

Brooklyn Turner
Owner Head Turners Sudz-n-Scissors
"My dog grooming journey started a little over six months ago. I have always had a love for dogs and wanted an animal based career. This was when I first started researching dog grooming courses. Vibe learning really stood out to me with their help and interest in making sure I was comfortable and had all of the details on the course. They also have very affordable payment plans which helps me a lot of a school student.
I enjoy how easy the access is as well as the student support. I can access the course whenever I have time and don’t have any deadlines. The course is accessible for lifetime and I am able to work on it around my school hours and after school activities. Vibe learning also has a private Facebook group for all of the students which is a great way to ask questions and learn tips from fellow students.
I have gained experience from grooming dogs in my family. I also plan on volunteering my grooming time to dogs at the pound to help them find their new families."
