Microsoft Office 2013 adds new capabilities and a new look to the features of Office 2010. In addition, Office 2013 lets you store and work on your documents "in the cloud," making it easier to work from different locations and to share your work with others. In this lesson, you'll take a peek at the new look of Office 2013 and then learn about working with Office programs and documents in the cloud.

Microsoft Word offers several new startup features, including a Start screen and templates. Its enhanced cloud connectivity appears when you open and save files. A new view and improved graphics capabilities make it easier to view and work with pictures and videos. In this lesson, you'll use these features in both a short and a long document

Word 2013 makes working with tables easier than ever, with new border choices and a new easy way to add rows and columns. And when you finish formatting, you'll most likely want to share your documents with others, often to get their responses to your work. In this lesson, you'll learn about new Word reviewing features that make this faster. We'll explore Office apps, which help you extend what you can do in the program. You'll also learn that Word 2013 features the ability to open PDF documents so that you can edit them right inside of Word. Last, we'll look at file compatibility.

Like Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel 2013 has added some important new features that can help speed up your work. You'll see that the Excel screen elements are similar to those you saw earlier in Word. We'll also go over new data analysis tools that let you preview various data relationships before you choose one. Combine these with new chart formatting tools and the ability to create slicers from tables, and you'll find better ways of communicating your data more clearly than ever before.

In this lesson, you'll begin by exploring changes to Excel PivotTables and PivotCharts, after a quick review. You'll also learn a great new PivotTable feature called the Timeline. We'll then move on to workbook sharing and then experience some of the new apps for Excel. Finally, you'll look at sharing workbooks and the new procedure for creating and saving you own templates.

Today, you'll look at the PowerPoint Start screen templates and then open a presentation. There you'll learn about themes and theme variants, you'll examine new slide formats, and you'll look at how the Ribbon tabs have changed. Then you'll explore several new tools that let you add and work with graphics in less time.

Today, you'll gain experience in formatting slide backgrounds, formatting pictures, and presenting in Slide Show view. I'll then introduce you to the new Presenter view, which lets you practice and present your show using new tools. We'll then turn to the new comment features, which allow you to more easily exchange information with people who review your presentation. Finally, we'll look at new animation features that let you create custom animations more easily.

Access 2013 has one big new feature: It lets you create Web apps, which are online databases that other people can open and work with using a Web browser. In this lesson, we'll do a quick review of Access and then create two Web apps. You'll need Access 2013 and a SharePoint server address, which you can get by signing up for a free trial of an Office 365 subscription.

In this lesson, you'll look at the most important new features in Outlook 2013, including improvements to the email, contacts (now called <em>people</em>), calendar, and tasks areas. Some areas have been renamed, and some have gotten a new look to help you communicate more efficiently with others. Finally, we'll look at ways of customizing the screens in the major Outlook areas so that you can always have the information you need at your fingertips.

In this lesson, I'll introduce you to the basics of OneNote 2013, including creating a notebook, tabs, and pages. You'll then see the major new features, including creating and tagging text, creating tables with shading, converting tables to Excel spreadsheets, and inserting existing Excel spreadsheets. Finally, you'll learn about sending information to OneNote from other programs and exporting notebooks.

In this lesson, we'll look at the new features of Microsoft Publisher 2013, including new templates and new text and graphics formatting options. We'll cover fills, outlines, and special effects such as shadows, reflections, glows, and bevels. These effects offer countless combinations that let you make your text and graphics truly distinctive. You'll learn to easily swap images in a publication and make any image into a page background. Finally, you'll learn how to save any publication as a graphic file that you can send to any photo printer.

In this lesson, you'll learn how to perform basic integration techniques, which let you reuse information between the Office programs. We'll compare and contrast pasting, embedding, and linking and get some hands-on experience as you integrate spreadsheet cells and a chart into a Word report. Finally, you learn to create an entire PowerPoint presentation in an instant from a Word outline.</strong></p></p></p>

This course has a 3 month duration. You'll complete comprehensive lessons, quizzes and assignments before submitting your final exam at the end of the course to achieve your certificate. Courses must be completed within the 3 month access period.

In this first lesson, you'll learn the difference between financial knowledge and business acumen in a way that's easy to understand. You'll also be introduced to a few basic financial strategies and explore what business finance can do for you, your company, and your personal finances.

To gain a strong foundation in business finance, you need understand the basic business model, its components, and how they fit into the larger organization. You'll see how finances flow through the business and begin to master basic financial terminology. At the end of this lesson, you'll be able to apply what you've learned to your personal household and finances.

Do you know what ROI refers to? What's a Sales Forecast, and why is it so important? In this lesson, you'll learn these terms and many more. You'll also gain an understanding of financial forces, which provide a foundation for developing financial strategies and driving profit. You'll wrap up the lesson with a look at a very real example of the impact of unplanned expenses on the bottom line.

Financial statements can be one of the most mysterious parts of business finance. As you'll see, however, all you need is basic information about what is reported and why to make sense of the three basic financial statements. With this lesson under your belt, you'll be ready to take on the next crucial step in mastering business finance: recording and tracking the annual finances on these statements.

In this lesson, you'll gain a broader understanding of the first of the financial statements we'll be considering: the Income Statement. You'll visit the hypothetical company Bouncy Balls Incorporated (BBI), and examine its annual statement to comprehend what all these numbers mean. You'll also learn what's recorded on the Income Statement and how to analyze it using financial ratios to gain some valuable perspective on how BBI is doing.

Still working with the fictitious company BBI, you'll explore what information is included in the Balance Sheet, how it differs from the other financial statements, and how to analyze it using financial ratios.&nbsp; You'll continue your work to determine BBI's financial position and see where changes in business strategy may be needed.

You'll finish your introduction to the basic financial statements as you review the Statement of Cash Flows. You'll see how financial personnel use this statement as you continue your tour of BBI. As you work through the Statement of Cash Flows, you'll start to put all of the information together to improve your understanding of BBI's financial position.

In this lesson, you'll listen in at a roundtable meeting of executives at BBI as they discuss the company's financial statements.&nbsp; The meeting offers a great opportunity for you to get an insider's look into how executives develop another component of a company's financial filings&mdash;the Management's Discussion &amp; Analysis (MD&amp;A). As you learn to interpret this filing, you'll gain valuable insights into how you can understand the "story behind the numbers" for any company.

Now you're going to put all of the financial knowledge you've gained during this course to work as you consider some strategies for improving BBI's financial condition.&nbsp; You'll explore how executives bring their financial knowledge in line with business needs to make solid business decisions that will have a positive impact on the company financials.

In this lesson, you'll tackle a key issue in business: cost cutting. Expenses are such a huge part of business.&nbsp; Here, you'll see how to use your new knowledge of financial reporting and your business acumen skills to develop strategies that have a positive impact on a company's bottom line.

Continuing your exploration of financial strategy, you'll use the decision-making process to examine the inventory situation at BBI and develop strategies to increase supply and production efficiencies.&nbsp; You'll also see how to develop strategies to improve the BBI cash position so that more things can be done to increase the bottom line.

Now that you've gone through various strategies to increase sales, decrease expenses, and better manage company assets, it's time to see how to complete an overall strategic analysis of an organization.&nbsp; You'll increase your ability to think "big picture" and see how to take advantage of opportunities in your workplace and personal life.&nbsp; This lesson focuses on using an analytical process called SWOT (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, and Threats) to develop strategies to move your business and your personal financial life in a positive direction.&nbsp; You'll also explore a process for successfully implementing the strategies you develop.

Courses are delivered to you through expertly executed lessons, online instruction and interaction with like-minded students. Our courses are designed to deliver all of the benefits of studying in a classroom whilst giving you the flexibility to study at a time and place to suit your needs. You can access your classroom 24/7 from any device with an internet connection.

This course has a 3 month duration. You'll complete comprehensive lessons, quizzes and assignments before submitting your final exam at the end of the course to achieve your certificate. Courses must be completed within the 3 month access period.

In our first lesson, we'll take some time to be sure you're comfortable with the way the online classroom works, downloading images for class, and where things are in Lightroom 4. You'll learn how to create an organizational system that works with Lightroom and keeps your images easily available to you. With Lightroom's import tools, you'll be able to add keywords to images and add personalized metadata for easy searches and Internet security.

As we continue our discussion about libraries and importing images to Lightroom, you'll be pleased to see how many options you have! In this lesson, we'll discuss shortcuts for photographers working with Lightroom and several different ways to speed up the import process. We'll also explore a variety of methods to add keywords and metadata and use them to search and sort your images. By the end of this lesson, you'll have all the tools you need to import, sort, and export images for a clean start to managing your images.

Today we'll explore how Lightroom works behind the scenes&mdash;something you'll want to know as we move into <i>developing</i> or making changes to your images with Lightroom. With an understanding of how the Library module works for importing, organizing, and exporting images, you're ready to work with Lightroom's Quick Develop tools. In this lesson, you'll see how to make quick changes, not just to one image, but to groups and large batches of images. This is just the beginning of our journey through Lightroom's Develop tools. You'll also learn how to work with multiple images and make virtual copies&mdash;all part of Lightroom's quick and easy developing tools.

Today, we'll begin our exploration of the Develop module and the many tools for editing and adjusting images. You'll have lots of hands-on practice with tools for straightening, rotating, and cropping images. It may seem like a straightforward subject, but Lightroom has many variations, so you can perfect both the shape and the size of your image. You may prefer to straighten based on a horizon in the image, or by fine-tuning the alignment against a grid. You can crop to a variety of different preset shapes, create your own custom shape, or crop by hand. You'll be pleased with the results!

Color is an integral part of the perfect print, and it's important to see how Lightroom helps you adjust your overall color tone and lighting with several sophisticated tools. In today's lesson, you'll see how to pick the best white balance for your images, use a histogram to adjust the light, and find and correct problem areas with exposure clippings. These changes may be simple, but the right color and lighting bring your pictures to life, and you'll want to start the development process with these adjustments!

With today's lesson, we'll complete our study of the Basic panel, and you'll have quite a collection of tools at your disposal from the Develop module. We'll focus on color today, and you'll see how a subtle adjustment can clear away muted tones. We'll work with contrast, shadows, highlights, saturation, vibrance, and more. You may not know exactly what each of these does as we begin, but you'll find it's easy to experiment until you like what you see&mdash;and before you know it, you'll master the tools!

Next in our study of Lightroom, you'll have fun seeing the difference when you sharpen an image. Photographers work hard to shoot crisp images, but at times . . . things don't go as planned, and you'll be able to put the snap back into your images with Lightroom's tools. We'll work with sharpening and noise reduction tools today, and then you'll see how to apply any of the editing options to batches of images, bringing Lightroom's two best features together. It just gets better and better!

We'll continue our discussion on synchronizing or copying changes from one image to many in this lesson. But not all changes are meant to be copied, and you'll work with several tools like Red Eye Correction, Spot Removal, and the Adjustment Brush so that&nbsp;you can see how Lightroom corrects subtle issues in selected areas. This lesson will wrap up our study of the editing tools in Lightroom, and you won't be disappointed!

We've taken the first few weeks to see how to import images to Lightroom and develop them with an amazing array of tools. Now it's time to see what we can do with these images outside of Lightroom. Today's lesson is on exporting Lightroom's images, and you'll see that there are many options for size, shape, and further editing. Whether you're working with raw or JPEG, Lightroom will efficiently process your images, save your changes, and provide you images you can upload to printers, create scrapbooks with, or use with Adobe's companion products: Photoshop and Photoshop Elements.

In today's lesson, you'll see how to use Lightroom's Print module to create a variety of output options. Whether you print at home or send your images out to print, Lightroom has a number of menus you'll want to be familiar with. You'll see how to print single images, create contact sheets, and customize layouts for many purposes. Once you've mastered the Print module, you'll be ready to print with all the advantages of using Lightroom.

Lightroom has fans in two different areas: developing and organization. Today we'll go back to the organizational side and see how to rate images with star ratings and color labels, and we'll also look at how to create collections. With all these tools, you'll be able to categorize and find things with very little effort. It makes Lightroom a fast tool for locating images and moving forward in your workflow. You can work simply with Quick Collection and Target Collection, or you can create a sophisticated network of your own collections!

In our last lesson, we'll show off a bit with Lightroom's slideshow and identity plates. You'll see how to create both a PDF presentation and an MP4 Slideshow with music and special effects from your Lightroom collections. You'll also build an Identity Plate that you can use both in printing and presentations. With all the things you've learned in Lightroom, this is a great way to share your images with friends, family, and clients!
